Tattoo Removal Long Island #laser #tattoo #removal #ny

Tattoo Removal

Today, an estimated 40 million Americans have tattoos and nearly half of them regret their initial choice. The history of tattoos and body markings is extensive. The earliest known tattoos on the human body date back to 2000 B.C. In 1991, the discovery of the “Iceman” from the Italian-Austrian area has what seems to be tattoo patterns, suggesting that tattoos have been around for over 5,200 years! Tattoos and skin art have been used to exemplify declarations of love, signs of religious beliefs, social status, and even used as forms of punishment. We understand that unwanted and embarrassing tattoos may be causing you unnecessary stress and anxiety and we have the tools and latest treatments to help you.

What can I expect from tattoo removal?
During the initial consultation with one of our dermatologists, you will have a discussion about which mode of removal best suits your particular tattoo and comfort level. You will be asked to give a complete medical history, including the use of any medications, drugs, alcohol, or medical conditions that may affect how the skin heals. Your tattoo may be examined for size, color, and location. This information will allow our doctors to estimate how many treatments it will take to remove the tattoo and what type of results to expect. Most tattoos are removed in two to six treatments. In addition, you will have the opportunity to ask our doctors any questions and express any concerns that you may have.

Can all tattoos be removed?
As mentioned above, the ink in a tattoo absorbs light from a laser and fragments. Dark colors, such as black and dark blue are most easily removed as they absorb the most light, similar to wearing black clothing on a hot summer day. Light colored tattoo ink such as yellow and violet may be more difficult to remove. In addition, the removal of tattoos by a professional artist that uses higher quality ink, may call for eight to twelve treatments or more, while a tattoo created by an amateur artist may be removed in less treatments.Alternative methods of tattoo removal include excision (cutting out the tattoo)or chemical abrasion or dermabrasion.

In simple terms, how does a laser remove my tattoo? Lasers have been used to remove tattoos since the late 1980’s. However, the procedure has only recently been perfected. Lasers emit a concentrated beam of light. Our dermatologists adjust the laser for each individuals skin tone and the color of the tattoo ink. The beam of light from the laser will disrupt the ink and break the ink down into small fragments. Some of the ink may flake off the surface of the body, while most will fall into the blood stream. The body s immune system will remove the fragments of ink, leaving a tattoo-free surface and minimal scarring.

Lasers still sound intimidating to me; what will the procedure feel like? How long will it last?
Laser removal is considered the best method for tattoo removal as lasers are extremely efficient and precise, minimizing the risk to surrounding skin. Our doctors can vary the laser s wavelengths and pulse durations catering to different colored tattoos and various skin tones. During the treatment, our doctors may use a a combination of lasers to suit your particular needs in order to achieve the best possible results. The procedure can last from 5 to 45 minutes depending on the size and color of the tattoo(s). The feeling of the laser on the skin has been described by patients as a rubber band snapping on the skin or “no worse than getting the tattoo itself!” Our doctors take great care to ensure your comfort, so before treatment they may numb the area with a topical anesthetic cream.

Is there any downtime after laser treatment?
Depending on the tattoo size, color, and which laser is utilized, the treated area may turn white and swell immediately following treatment. Pinpoint bleeding may also occur, but usually heals usually within seven to ten days. It is unusual to remove a tattoo without it resulting in some skin changes. As mentioned earlier, different skin tones and ink colors absorb different light wavelengths. In an effort to maximize results, our offices utilize a variety of lasers including Q-switched lasers, Ruby, Nd: YAG, Alexandrite as well as others.

Blue meth worth nearly $750K seized near Mexican border

SAN DIEGO — One bidder wants to cover President Donald Trump s border wall with solar panels. Another suggests building a wall large enough for a deck that would offer tourists scenic views of the desert.

In the competition to build the wall, traditional bids are interspersed with more whimsical ideas.

As Tuesday s deadline for bids passed, US Customs and Border Protection declined to identify bidders or say how many there were, which is standard practice in government contracting. The federal government expects to announce around June 1 which companies will be hired to build prototypes.

Designs must be able to repel pickaxes and sledgehammers for at least an hour and be aesthetically pleasing from the north side.

Trump s multibillion-dollar plan promises potentially big profits but also risks inviting a backlash from people who oppose the project.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Mexico said last week that Mexican companies expressing interest were betraying their country.

This isn t the kind of project that you d want to put in your portfolio, said Gene Grabowski, a partner in kglobal, a Washington public relations firm. Unlike a dam or bridge, this is one where the risk of being associated with the political philosophy of the administration can be damaging to current and future business.

That did not stop some companies from releasing their plans — some traditional, some more imaginative.

Concrete Contractors Interstate proposed a polished concrete wall augmented with stones and artifacts that are tailored to different sections of the 2,000-mile border.

The idea is to make the wall a piece of art, said Russ Baumgartner, chief executive officer of the San Diego-based company.

Gleason Partners LLC of Las Vegas said its solar panels would generate 2 megawatts of electricity an hour. Both proposals were first reported by the San Diego Union-Tribune.

For the younger generation, they say if there is going to be a wall, let s have it be green, said Gleason managing partner Thomas Gleason.

The other specifications, like preventing people from digging tunnels beneath the wall, will eliminate some designs immediately. Winners must also have done border security or similar projects worth $25 million or more in the past five years.

A US official with knowledge of the plans who spoke on condition of anonymity because the details have not been made public said four to 10 bidders are expected to be chosen to build prototypes for $200,000 to $500,000 each.

The prototypes will be constructed on a quarter-mile strip of federally owned land in San Diego within 120 feet of the border, though a final decision has not been made on the precise spot, the official said.

The Border Patrol and local police would establish a buffer zone around the construction site if necessary, the US official said. The San Diego police and sheriff s departments said they will respect constitutional rights to free speech and assembly for law-abiding protesters.

Bidders are also asked to submit security plans and demonstrate experience executing high-profile, high-visibility and politically contentious projects.

The prototypes are preliminary steps for a project that will face deep resistance in Congress and beyond.

During the campaign, Trump repeatedly said that Mexico would pay for the wall, but he has since requested that Congress approve billions of dollars in taxpayer money. Democrats vow to oppose any wall funding, and many Republicans are also wary of his plans for a massive brick-and-mortar barrier.

Meanwhile, the head of Homeland Security said that arrests of people entering illegally across the border plummeted last month. That s a signal that fewer people are trying to sneak into the US.

In written testimony submitted Tuesday to a Senate panel, John Kelly said fewer than 12,500 people were caught crossing the border last month. That compares with more than 43,000 who were detained in December. It s the lowest monthly figure in at least 17 years.

Kelly said the decrease is no accident and credits Trump s approach to illegal immigration. The administration has not yet changed how the border is patrolled, but the president s tough talk on immigration and arrests of immigrants living in the country illegally have likely acted as deterrents.

An interested vendors list on a government website for contractors lists more than 200 companies. It s unclear how many of those companies bid and how many that do not appear on the list submitted proposals.

If you win, you have a contract, Grabowski said. If you lose, you have the publicity of competing for the business without the payoff of the contract. I think companies would want to avoid that.

Security Guard Training – NY DCJS #security #companies #in #syracuse #ny

Security Guard Training

New York State law requires registration and training of security guards in the state. The DCJS Office of Public Safety provides administrative oversight for mandated security training and approves security guard training schools. The New York State Department of State Division of Licensing Services has oversight responsibility for the registration of all security guards.

Questions about registration and licensing should be directed to the Division of Licensing Services via e-mail or calling (518) 474-7569. Or, visit www.dos.ny.gov/licensing for more information.

Training Requirements

The following courses are the only ones required to become a security guard in New York State.

Guards also must complete an 8-Hour Annual In-service Training Course for Security Guards every year.

Armed guard applicants must have a valid New York State pistol license pursuant to Penal Law 400.00 and must complete a 47-Hour Firearms Training Course for Security Guards prior to applying for a Special Armed Guard Registration Card. Security Systems in Rochester NY #security #systems #ny

Rochester NY Security Systems

General Security has been providing homes and businesses with residential and commercial security and life safety for over 30 years. If you need to install a home security system in Rochester NY then General Security is the company to help you. As with any place in the U.S. Rochester does have its fair share of criminal elements. The following are advantages of installing security systems Rochester NY residents need to be aware of.

Guarding Against Unwanted Entry

In spite of the motive of the intruder, any invasion in the home is unwanted. Part of the things you receive by purchasing and installing a security system is yard signs and window stickers. These act as the first psychological deterrents against unwelcome home invasion. A burglar is likely to think twice before breaking into the home if he is fully aware that the home has alarm protection.

Prevention of Loss

Burglars, in most cases, tend to be opportunistic criminals. Normally, they do not have a specific house as a particular target. They may roam around a neighborhood and break in when they find a soft target. But if you have a good Rochester NY security system with several different safe guards in place, chances are that the burglars will be forced to look elsewhere to wreck havoc.

Less Insurance Premiums

By installing security systems Rochester NY residents are guaranteed to get as much as 20% discount from insurance companies for their home insurance premiums. The rationale behindthis magnanimity is that secured homes are less prone to burglary cases. Therefore, you will also be saving on the home insurance premiums. Please check with your local Rochester insurance agent.

Safeguarding Lives

In most cases, burglars intend to steal and leave your premises unnoticed. However, in the event that you try to interrupt them, they may become hostile and even endanger your life and that of your family. But if they cannot get into the home in the first place, your life and that of your family members will not be threatened. Even in the situation that they get into your home, help will always be on the way because the alarm will have issued a warning.

With a Rochester home security system, you are safe and never have to worry about an unwanted person intruding and threatening you or your family. Before investing in security systems Rochester NY individuals should first evaluate the benefits of having such a system in place. Surely, these benefits outweigh the cost by far! Contact us today and speak with a local representative about some different home security options available to you and your family.

Officially the first Monroe County Park, Ellison Park came into being in December of 1926. The county accepted approximately 200 acres of land from Mr. and Mrs. Frank T. Ellison in memory of Mr. Ellison’s father, Nathaniel. Ellison Park has been the hub of many historical events and locations. Indian Landing which was located on Irondequoit Creek, for many years was used by the indigenous Iroquois as the beginning of the portage route which stretched along Ellison Park.

The Lost City of Tryon, originally founded in hopes of creating a commercial settlement, used the Irondequoit Creek for trade. A store was built that bartered with the Seneca Indians, beginning its trading roots.

There are four restrooms located in the park. There is one located by the Disc Golf Course off Landing Road (open seasonally between May 1st and October 31st). There is another behind the Hazelwood Grove Lodge. Another facility is located by the Creekside Lodge. The last restroom is located by the Sycamore Shelter (open seasonally between May 1st and October 31st). All of the restrooms have flush toilets. See the park map for specific locations.

Before heading out to Ellison Park print the park map. The color coded hiking trails and additional details will keep you on the right track.

Coyote Den Trail, this 1.1 mile walk (one way) passes by a few ponds and walkers can expect to see many birds and other wildlife.

Overlook Trail, this .6 mile walk overlooks Thomas cove and the stone quarry.

Mill Race Trail, this .4 mile walk, shows the stages between wetlands and a forest.

Indian Landing Trail, this 1.5 mile walk, is full of history, from the location of an old trading post (Fort Schuyler), to the presumed famous Butlers’s Rangers hideout, marked with commemorative plaques.

Butlers Gap Trail, this .7 mile walk (one way) has many interesting historical features as well as an intersection that overlooks the wetlands.

Disc Golf

A new Disc Golf map can be found here. The Greater Rochester Disc Golf Club worked very hard with the Parks Department to re-route the course.

Disc golf is open for play from approximately early/mid April until mid-November, dependent upon ground conditions and weather. If you’ve never played before, there’s never been a better time to get out early and learn. Contact the Greater Rochester Disc Golf Club at www.grdgc.org for more information about the sport.

There is one playground facility in Ellison Park. It is located on the north side of Blossom Road, near Roadside Shelter. See the park map for the specific location.
