Cool Company Names

Cool Names for a Business

When your business has a cool name you are saying to the world that you are up with the latest technology, trends and styles. If your prospective customers are innovators and early adopters your cool name signals that your firm is the one they should purchase from. In a fiercely competitive marketplace, a cool business name is a major competitive advantage that gives your firm the edge you need to thrive.

What Makes a Business Name Cool?

We usually think of cool names for companies in cool industries like gaming, tech, toys, consumer products, social media, web 2.0 firm, interactive enterprises, collaborative and Gen Y businesses.

But cool isn’t industry specific. In fact, a cool name is red-hot when adopted for use in a traditionally stodgy industry. Just think how the name Petrol Max (below) would stand out in the energy industry. It would be a very strong brand name that would stand apart from others in the market.

The naming experts at Brandings have studied tens of thousands of company names and product names to determine the underlying factors that make them cool. Here are a few examples of cool business names:

The 5 Elements of a Cool Business Name

Our research team has examined the elements that actually make a name “cool.” The “coolness” factor of a name can be broken into five key forces. Here are the 5 key factors that separate the cool from the uncool.

1. Cool Business Names are Unique. The business environment is crowded with firms hoping for attention. A cool name stands above the rest. It generates excitement because of its uniqueness.

2. Cool Business Names are Brandable. A cool business name is rarely found in a dictionary. A cool name conveys a core message that a brand can be built around.

3. Cool Business Names are Evocative. Your name should clearly communicate the personality of your firm and how your core competitive advantage. A cool name should elevate your products and services and evoke a positive feeling about your firm.

4. Cool Business Names are Short in Length. With rare exception, a cool name packs a powerful punch in a few letters. A cool name is short in length, all English characters and easy to spell and pronounce.

5. Cool Business Names are Engaging. A cool business name elevates the brand experience with just the right amount of intrigue, fun and whimsy. The name is current, but no so much so that it could become stale or dated.

By selecting the right cool name that sums up the core essence of your products will save your business considerable marketing dollars. In short, a cool name becomes a central tool in your marketing portfolio.

3 Additional Findings on Cool Brand Names:

99% of Cool Names Have No Numbers of Hyphens Numbers and hyphens can be difficult when crafting a company name. When your customer goes to type your name in a web browser, numbers and hyphens often cause typos and misspellings.

100% of Companies That Have Cool Names Have the Matching .COM Domain Extension The .COM domain extension is the choice for commerce around the globe. WE found, without exception, that every company with a cool name owned the exact-match .COM domain extension.

97% of Cool Names Don’t Follow Trends or Fads It was all the rage a few years back to come up with a Web 2.0 company name. These names drop vowels or consonants. A Web 2.0 name for “Price Rival” is PRYCRYVL.com. The name is may be trendy, but it’s nearly impossible to remember. A better choice is PriceRival.com. This name avoids the trend of dropping vowels. PriceRival.com is a stronger name that customers will know how to spell and pronounce. We found that non-fad names are easier to spell, easier to say and most importantly — easier to remember.

It’s True — Most Cool Company Names are .COMs

It’s a fact. your customers expect your domain name to have the .com TLD extension. There are a few rare outlying exceptions — like “will.i.am” (.am is the domain extension for the country of Armenia). If you don’t own the .com, you’ll be sending a whole lot of your audience to your competitor with the .com. Simply put, if you are engaged in commerce anywhere around the world you must own the .com domain extension.

And your .com domain name must be identical to your company name. If your company name is Avoxx, your domain name must be Avoxx.com.

Check out these cool domain names:

Dirkly.com, Yulti.com, Vymix.com, Curye.com, WideOx.com, Kylore.com, Zuyoo.com, Sykas.com, Fevox.com, Epacta.com, Docten.com, Olcor.com, Luxsy.com, Ludly.com, Ryadia.com, Enates.com, Doxzy.com, Pegly.com, Kyage.com, ModVue.com, Bryocy.com, Pligh.com, Ligly.com, Exoba.com, Xultan.com, Jagdom.com, Tyora.com, Yulow.com, Rytug.com, RamRed.com, Groson.com, Cigly.com, Ecelo.com, Ducby.com, Hyalty.com, Vonica.com, Vogly.com, Revbe.com, Boxdy.com, Thrain.com

50 Squeaky Cleaning Business Names

Can’t stand a mess? Does the show “Hoarders” drive you absolutely insane? Is your house always sparkling? Do you possess a collection of chemicals that would put a Walmart warehouse to shame? Then what are you doing just sitting there? You should be in business!

A cleaning service is one of the cheapest businesses to start and can have really low overhead costs, which ends up being a win-win because with your costs being low, you can pass on the low costs to your customers, too!

But to start out your business, you’ll probably have to advertise in newspapers, drop business cards at businesses and place flyers on cars.

Naming Your Business

Before you can do all of that, you’ll have to think about what you’re going to call yourself, right? Right. A few tips that should be used when thinking of cleaning company names:

Your name: You are boss, you started this, so flaunt it!

Clean name: You should have a name that has cleaning written all over it.

Be specific: If you only do residential, only do commercial, or only do new construction cleaning, this should be specified somehow in your business name.

Sound positive: People don’t want grumpy strangers in their homes, so having a friendly, happy-sounding name might help!

So, what should you look for in cleaning company names? The question you should be asking is, what do customers look for in a cleaning company? Customers want a cleaning company that is good at what they do and is happy to do it, a company that they can trust to be around their valuables when the customer isn’t there.

Here is a list of 50 examples:

Cleaning Service Name Ideas

Picking a Business Name

There you have it, a good list of cleaning company names to help you in your brainstorming. Sometimes you just can’t think clearly on your own, so in this case, try the following tips to help you with names:

Involve family and friends: Have a get together with a few of your closest people in an effort to get their opinions and suggestions for names. Not only will they be happy that you want their help, but you can have a drink or two in the process to relax!

Coin toss: Sometimes it comes down to just a couple of names and you simply cannot make a decision. In this case, you’d be happy with either name, right? Well, flip a coin!

Take a vote: If you have a few names in mind, take a vote from everyone you know, and even strangers in public (those soon-to-be customers!) and see what type of name they would go with!

Design a logo first: Sometimes people need visual cues in order to spark thoughts and ideas. If this is you, it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try!

Don’t rush the naming process if you are having mind blocks. Sometimes it helps to just get a good night’s rest and start with a clean slate in the morning! (A clean slate that’s probably cleaner than most, I assume!)

30 Catchy Catering Company Names

Calling all foodies! If you have a passion for making some delicious food and wish to turn that passion into money, then perhaps your calling is starting your very own catering company!

Catering Company Names

This is so important that it has its very own section! Choosing a name for a new business is not an easy task and requires a lot of thought, especially when it comes to catering company names. Here’s a few tips to consider when thinking of catering company names:

  • Clean: You will want to look for a name that sounds clean, because who would want to eat from a place that has a dirty sound? Keep it clean.
  • Professional: Especially important when dealing with brides! You want a name that gives the impression of absolute professionalism. Nobody will want to go to a company if their name makes them sound incompetent.
  • Your name: Feel free to use your name in your business name. Business sould stand proud in a sea of big corporations!
  • Food type: It’s more likely than not that you will be dealing with a specific taste of food, whether it’s Italian, Asian, or Latino cuisine. Make this clear in your name to make it easier for people to find you.
  • Event specialty: Many catering companies specialize in weddings but will also cater other events. Regardless, they often specify their main event types in their name to draw in that kind of business.

With all of these tips considered, let’s move onto some example catering company names:

Starting a Catering Company

Many events call for catering services, and the volume of business you wish to serve will determine if you will be able to run it out of your home by yourself or if you will need to hire a crew to serve food out of a professional kitchen. Events such as small parties can usually be handled by one, but if you plan on doing large events such as business meetings and weddings, you might wish to operate in a professional setting.

If you will be operating outside of your home, then you will need to find a good location! Ideal locations for catering companies are typically nearby other entertainment companies: DJs, photographers, etc. This is because when people are in need one of of those types of services, they usually need catering too, and how convenient it is to find one right next door! This will also enable you to build a relationship with other nearby companies, and offer discounted packages together as more incentive for business!

Regardless of where you decide to have your business, you will need the golden approval of the Health Department. Any kind of business dealing with food needs to be inspected to ensure you are following the proper protocol for food storage and handling, and also for cleanliness. Not only should you be in contact with them, but also with the state and county to register your business for tax purposes. Starting off on a good foot means not starting off with the IRS on your back!

Once you find your location, you will certainly need the right kitchen equipment in order to operate, right? Right! So begin looking for a supplier for your commercial equipment. This is where it becomes pricey, so if you don’t have a lot of money saved up for such expenses, I recommend that you either wait to start your business, hit the lottery, or more realistically, get a business loan. Also, look for a supplier for food, or join a bulk food-buying club such as Sam’s Club or Costco. This will help you save a lot of money off retail prices!

101 Funny Business Names

Most business owners put so much thought into naming their companies that you wonder how any of these funny business names slipped through. Is it the syndrome where they just looked at it way too many times to be objective? Did they just need another pair of eyes? Do they have a serious problem with their sense of humor?

Here’s a tip: Don’t come up with your business name while you’re hidden away in your dark “thinking space” after a few too many drinks and without consulting anyone.

It’s a process. Come up with lots of possibilities, and get lots of opinions and advice from people you trust.

Even better, hire a company to name your business for you. Think about it: you want your business name to resonate with every single one of your potential customers. In the end, it doesn’t really matter how you came up with it or that it was the nickname of your pet rat in college. Hiring a firm like Biz Name Wiz can help you come up with outside-the-box ideas that will sit well with you and, more importantly, the rest of the world.

Maybe those funny business names are out there to help us feel better about our own business names, or maybe they are intended to make us laugh. Either way, they are hilarious. Check out these business names that are:

Business Names Ideas:
Creating The Perfect Brand

When you’re looking for business names ideas, your mind may go blank. It often seems like just when we need to come up with something witty or memorable, we just can’t do it. But if you’ve got a place to jump off from, then it becomes a little easier to come up with company name ideas.

Here are some tips to get you started.

How to Choose a Good Business Name and Logo

To come up with some great business name ideas, start by looking at word plays. Is there a combination of words that create a picture that would sum up your business? For example, the firm Eat My Words actually specializes in coming up with company names ideas.

However when you are playing with words, keep in mind that using a pun may be risky. If you’re sure that it will be memorable, then it might be alright, but often a pun is not the way to go.

Great business names ideas should also be easy to pronounce and remember. It should be meaningful both to your audience and to you. For example, Inc.com mentions a frozen yogurt business called Spoon Me, which ended up being great for branding because they were able to sell a lot of t-shirts, bumper stickers, and buttons. There’s nothing like advertising people will pay you for instead of it being the other way around.

When looking for business logo ideas, simple is also advisable. You don’t necessarily need your business name in the logo, but it should relate in some way. Look at some of the most well-known and memorable logos: Coca-Cola, Kraft, Starbucks Coffee. All of them incorporate the name of the business in some way. And then you have McDonald’s, which simply uses the golden M, and NBC, which sometimes includes the three-letter company name but often is just the recognizable rainbow peacock.

Sometimes your idea for a logo may come before your business names ideas, and that’s OK. Try to think of the logos you like the most and use them to create a logo and business names ideas for your own company.

How Branding Affects Your Business Success

Having a great business name also makes a huge difference for branding. If people can’t remember your business name and see your logo, then they won’t remember to do business with you.

Branding is also important in the world of internet business. You need a name that’s not only catchy, but that translates into a domain name people will remember and be able to spell. You may find the use of a business name generator like “Panabee” to be helpful in this regard.

Business Name Ideas and Legal Issues

As you’re coming up with ideas for business names, keep in mind that you might run into legal problems. It might be that the name you want is already taken, and you don’t want to face a lawsuit for copyright or trademark infringement.

Panabee will help you find a name that’s not taken, but you should also run a check through the Copyright.gov office and check your logo against the Trademark office (uspto.gov). And once you settle on a name, make sure that you have a lawyer help you with filing the appropriate paperwork with these offices so that your name and logo will be protected.

50 Cake and Cupcake Business Names

Cupcake shops are a growing favorite for kids and adults alike! They are fun little places for a family to go together for dessert and are a nice alternative to ice cream shops.

It takes a lot of talent to run a cupcake business. Management skills, people skills, and mad baking skills are all a must!

Have your cupcake and eat it too by opening a cupcake business!

Though delicious treats displayed in the window at your business can help attract window shoppers, it will do no good for those who aren’t physically in the area. For this (and other reasons), it is necessary to have a name that leaves nothing but cupcakes to be desired.

Here’s a list of names to get you thinking:

Cupcake Shop Name Ideas

Tips for Picking a Sweet Name

Although picking through cupcake business names is a difficult task, there is no escaping it and its importance should not be dismissed. Embrace the naming process as once it’s done, it’s done. That said, take your time with it. Hopefully you will be using the business name for a long time, so you’ll want to make sure you choose something you like.

In the brainstorming process, write down as many names as you can think of, so you have as many as possible to choose from. Here are a few brainstorming tips that can help you along:

Use a name (either yours or the baker’s): Including the name of the baker or owner will help everyone know who’s boss! If your name is unusual, it will make your business that much more special.

Use your food: Everyone should know exactly what you’re serving up! In this case, it’s cupcakes. Be proud!

Location: Use your general location or street name in your business name. Even if you end up moving, where you started your business will never change!

Try using rhymes: They are catchy and will help everyone remember your name.

  • Use adjectives: There are many words that can describe a cupcake. Try using words such as sweet, tasty, or anything that portrays just how cute and delicious your cupcakes!
  • Give yourself room to grow: Though you might start out with cupcakes, it’s possible you’ll want to branch into other areas of baking or the restaurant industry.
  • Check online first: Make sure your name hasn’t already been taken by another business, even one located in a different area. This can cause you legal headaches down the road that you don’t want to deal with.
  • Avoid confusing names: If a name is confusing or hard to understand, it will make it that much more difficult for news of your business to spread by word of mouth.
  • Avoid cutesy spelling: Though Kute Kupcakez might sound like a good name, people who are searching for your business will have a hard time finding you. Funny spellings also tend to not age very well, and your business will hopefully be around for a long time!
  • With cupcake businesses growing in number, competition for this type of business is getting tighter. Try to stand out from your competitors in any way you can!

    Creative company names

    Creative company names

What’s in a name? Actually a lot, when it is about company success. The correct name can create your business the talk of the city. The incorrect one can send it to gloom and collapse. Preferably, your name should express the know-how, value and distinctiveness of the products or services you have developed.

Some professionals think that the top names are intangible, an empty slate upon which to create a picture. Others believe that names should be enlightening so consumers know instantly what your company is. Some think that coined names are more outstanding than names that use genuine words. Others think they re unmemorable. In realism, any name can be efficient if it s backed by the appropriate marketing strategy. Here s what you ll need to think in order to give your miniature business the most suitable and efficient name.

Enlist Expert Help to Start New Business

Coming up with a good business name can be a complex process. You might think consulting an expert, particularly if you re in a meadow in which your business name may manipulate the achievement of your business. Naming firms have detailed systems for forming new names and they know their way about the trademark law. They can counsel you alongside bad name choice and give details why others are good.

The problem is cost. A specialized naming firm may charge a lot to develop a name. That normally includes other individuality work and realistic plan as part of the package.

    What s in a Name?

Begin by deciding what you want your name to talk. It should strengthen the key rudiments of your business. Your work in forming a place and a mission announcement will help you locate the rudiments you want to highlight in your name.

The more your name communicates to customers about your business, the fewer attempts you must apply to explain it. According to naming expert, entrepreneurs should give precedence to real words or combination of words over fictitious words. People favor words they can relate to and comprehend. On the additional note, it is likely for a name to be too meaningful. Frequent pitfalls are geographic or common names. A theoretical example is San Pablo Disk Drives. What if the business wants to get bigger beyond the city of San Pablo, California? What sense will that name have for customers in Chicago or Pittsburgh? And what if the business diversifies further than disk drive into software or computer training manuals?

How can a name be both meaningful and wide? Expressive names tell something actual about a business what it does, where it s situated and so on. Evocative names are more abstract. They focus on what the business is about.

When selecting a business name, keep the subsequent tips in mind:

Select a name that appeal not only to you but also to the kind of consumers you are trying to draw.
Select a reassuring or well-known name that conjures up enjoyable reminiscences so customers react to your business on a poignant level.

    • Don t choose a name that is long or puzzling.

    • Don’t select names that only you comprehend.

    • Don t use the word “Inc.” after your name except your company is actually integrated.

    Get imaginative Names

At an occasion when approximately every accessible word in the foreign language has been trade-marked, the choice of coining a name is happening to be more admired. Example is Acura and Compaq, which were formed by christening firm Name Lab.

Coined names can be more significant than existing words, says Name Lab president Barr. For example, Acura has no word list description but the word suggest accuracy business, just as the business planned. Name Lab s team formed the name Acura from Acute, a word section that means precise in many languages.

However, those fabricated words aren t the correct answer for every circumstance. New words are compound and may create a insight that the products, services or company’s is multifaceted, which may not be true. Plus, naming starters might find this sort of coining past their capability.

An easier answer is to use new form or spellings of accessible words. For instance, Name Lab formed the name Compaq when a new PC business came to them touting its new transferable computer. The team contemplated about the word compact and came up with Compaq, which they supposed would be less common and more obvious.

    Test Your Name

After you ve lessened the field to 4 or 5 names that are outstanding and communicative, you are prepared to do a trade name search. Not every company name needs to be trademarked, as extensive as your state administration gives you the progress and you aren t infringing on anybody else s trade name. But you should think hiring a trademark lawyer or at least a trade-mark look for firm earlier than to make sure your new name doesn t disobey on an additional business s trademark.

    Finishing Analysis

If you re fortunate, you ll end up with 3 to 5 names that bypass all your tests. How do you make your concluding choice? Recall your entire preliminary criterion. Which name fits your vision? Which name most precisely describes the business you have in mind?

Some entrepreneurs arrive at a last result by going with gut or by doing customer research or test with focus group to see how the name is professed. You can sketch a thought of what every name will look like on a symbol or on company stationery. Read all name out loud, paying thought to the way it sounds if you forecast radio promotion or telemarketing in your prospect. Employ any or all of these criteria.

Keep in mind that specialized naming firms devote somewhere from 6 weeks to 6 months to the naming procedure. You most likely won t have that a large amount of time, but arrange to use up at least a few weeks on select a name.

Once your choice is complete, begin building your eagerness for the new name instantly. Your name is your initial step in the direction of building sturdy company uniqueness, one that should remain as long as you re in industry.
