I had theses guys out back on Thanksgiving 2014, when my sewer backed up. I had a mess that I would not wish on anyone to clean up from sewage. My plumber recommended them. After talking to John, he had his guy here within one hour. He accessed the situation and had a clean up crew here within the hour, and when i say clean up crew. I MEAN CLEAN UP CREW, THEY GUYS WERE UNBELIEVABLE, AND DID I MENTION IT WAS ON THANKSGIVING DAY. I would give these guys more stars but five is all I am allotted. I would recommend them to anyone. THANK YOU EWR FOR HELPING ME IN MY TIME OF DISTRESS.

Horrible would be a compliment. These are scam artists at work. Promise services they don t deliver, make mistakes to cost you more money, and then at the end tag on extra hours and services to the bill that were never completed. Steer far away.

EWR was called to our house by a plumber who fixed our leaking garbage disposal because their was a lot of standing water under the kitchen sink. Bradley of EWR was quick to show up and get things moving to help clean up the leaking water under the kitchen sink. Our problem came more so after when they tried to set up AYS to finish the job and get our damanged sink cabinet restored. It never happened and there s a review on their site as well. My beef with EWR is that they say that they will help to start and ensure your job is complete with full restoration. Once they were done we got a bill and had to pay within 10 days even though our job was not completed and they said Best of Luck with getting the sink restored. Looking at the invoice, they try and charge you an exorbitant amount for equipment and set up fees that were beyond what was actually done. Their reasoning was b.s. and said it was generated by a computer program. How are you going to charge 3 hours for take down of equipment when they were here 15 mins. Better going with a different company overall than this one. They feed you so much b.s. to seal the deal then leave you hanging.

We used this company because of water damage in the basement bathroom. Emergency Water Removal was recommended by Allgood Plumbing, the company that repaired the piping damage. They showed up the same day and the insurance deductible was required prior to EWR s installation of their equipment to dry the water damage and to remove damaged insulation, wood, and etc. The water also damaged the carpet in the hallway outside of the bathroom. One of EWR s blowers failed and after notifying the project manager, they promptly replaced it. Once all was dry and the units were picked up, we noticed the area where the blower failed left a greasy spot on the carpet. I called the project manager, Stacey Zanders, on several occasions and left messages, but he didn t return any of my calls. He always responded while his equipment was in our home! I then called the 866-971-5675 number, spoke to Mike, who said he would send someone out that same day. No one showed up. The company EWR recommended to restore the damage, AYS Restoration, came to give a quote, however, they did not send that quote and will no longer respond to me. We are left with a torn apart bathroom, damaged carpet–including a spot EWR cut to take with them–and no one to repair it. I wouldn t recommend this company or the restoration company to anyone. Bad customer service and no guarantee of their work.

Holiday hours not verified. Please call to confirm this business’ hours on 29 May, Memorial Day.

Which RN program (full-time) to choose in the East Bay area

Quote from turbohound

I’m an East Bay local also looking into RN programs. I’m looking at your list as well as Ohlone and Modesto. Chabot has expanded their program to allow for ten more students at the Las Positas campus. Also, the south bay programs are accessible via the ACE train. I’m volunteering at Valleycare to get a feel for nursing. Any idea what the wages are like?

Hi Lizz and turbohound !

Thanks for your messages.

You mention Ohlone college, which I visited. It’s a beautiful campus, but a little far away for me. I don’t know Modesto. Chabot college I heard is a very good college. I don’t know what the wages are like unfortunately, but you may want to post a new thread asking that question.

I’ve just been admitted to San Francisco State University, so I’ve decided that’s where I’m going to go. I’m excited! I was not sure whether to get a BSN or an ADN, because I’m already 46; but I think SFSU is a very attractive place, although a little far away. CAL-State Hayward is closer to my home, but they’re only going to give their answers in mid-June or July, and students at my colleges (Peralta) mentioned that SFSU is a very neat place and that this is what I should choose.

I was thinking earlier that CAL-State Hayward might be better, because they have a higher passing rate at the NCLEX exam, but someone told me that the reason is that they require their students to have an exam at their university first, before trying the Board State exam. I think CAL-State Hayward is a very good university nevertheless. Contra Costa College seems to be pretty high on the list of success at NCLEX exam too. They did not admit me, because they had some prerequisites I did not meet like two courses in physical education and child development. I was admitted at Merritt college, but heard that their present ADN program is too tough. A student told me that only 17 students are now left in the second year of their ADN program.

Thanks for responding

I got my MBA at Hayward, so I don’t want to do another long program. I’m looking at ADN programs due to my age (38). That’s so cool that you’ve been accepted. I’m so jealous. Maybe I’ll see you at Valleycare in Livermore sometime.

An MBA, that’s pretty good! If I had one, I think I would go for the nurse practitioner program directly, which is two years like the ADN program. Because you already have a masters degree, I am afraid that SFSU or CAL-State Hayward (?) would not let you apply for another masters degree in nursing. You could always ask if you thought that was a good idea for you. You could apply to Samuel Merritt though. They are expensive, but I was told they’re a very good school, and Kaiser and West Catholic Hospital (I’m not sure what the name is) would reimburse students for their loans.

If you’re unsure, you could apply for both ADN and Master programs (have you thought of physician’s assistant at Stanford/Foothill college, and Samuel Merritt). It’s also a 2 years program.

I forgot to mention in my previous e-mail that Chabot college (ADN program) selects students through a lottery at the end of April (need to apply in January).

All the best to you in your endeavors!

An MBA is not a Master’s degree in nursing, so you would be able to get an MSN. They are not related to each other in any way. Hope that this helps.

sorry about resurecting this old thread but i’m considering moving to the sf area, i am an lpn wanting to fastrack. are there long waiting list for the various fastrack or just general asn/adn programs in sf?

the next rn adn program that starts the soonest for which you could apply is at the city college in san francisco. www.ccsf.edu/
you have to go there on the first day that you are allowed to apply (sometimes in august) – you could go now and get all the info. their 2 year program starts in january 2005. you most likely won’t be able to get any info by phone or to register for nursing by mail either.

for other adn programs, i heard that college of marin is good www.marin .cc.ca.us/
. as well as chabot college in hayward chabot web.clpccd.cc.ca.us/
chabot does a lottery however to select qualified applicants, and they rejected me, because i was not a in-district resident (i think they made a mistake); but they accepted someone else who leaves in alameda.

and contra costa college in san pablo www.contracosta .cc.ca.us

from all the things i heard, and their results at the nclex exams, i do not recommend merritt college in oakland (not to confuse with samuel merritt in oakland, which is a good program).

these may not be the fastest program in your situation, because you say you’re already an lpn; so i don’t know what programs are available in your situation. i believe that for bachelor degrees in nursing, there are faster programs for lpn, so it may be worth it to apply to bachelor programs.

samuel merritt in oakland www.samuelmerritt .edu may still accept applications for the fall 2004, and may have a special program for lpn, i don’t know. samuel merritt is associated with holy names college in oakland, or st mary’s college in moraga where you’d have to take some general education classes (you don’t have to be catholic.) they’re expensive, but good, and i heard that several employers, incl. kaiser and a hospital with a catholic name (catholic west or something like that) offer to reimburse education loans when they hire.

you may also want to check what kind of programs ucsf in san francisco has for lpns at nurseweb.ucsf .edu they’re also expensive, but apparently very good.

the other bachelor in nursing programs that i know are at san francisco state university, where i have been accepted. www.sfsu.edu
and csu hayward www.csuhayward.edu (there is a pre-entrance nln exam to take).

when you apply, make sure to fill out two applications one for the school, and one for the nursing program.

if anyone studied nursing at hayward university or san francisco state university, i’d be interested to know if they liked it or not, and why.

Ruff Roofers – 51 Photos – Roofing – 1420 Knecht Ave, Baltimore, MD –

#

1420 Knecht Ave
Baltimore. MD 21227
(410) 242-2400

I highly recommend Ruff Roofers. I had a very difficult job combining a regular shingle roof with damage to the substructure and the replacement of a large metal roof. All was handled admirably with few issues. Those few issues were addressed professionally and immediately. Ryan was fantastic to deal with. All calls were returned within minutes. These are the folks to use.

WOW! Never have I been more pleased with the professionalism, customer service, attention to detail and love for people. I ve never felt more secure or safe after having such a secure roof now. Raise the Ruff Roofers!

I used Ruff Roofers for our roofing job two years ago. They also replaced our skylights. I was so please with the work I hired them again. Recently the fascia on the front of our house was damaged in a wind storm. Called them and within a week the job was done! Great company and great people. Thank you Ruff Roofers!

I get to be the first to review? Awesome! After suffering under (quite literally) a horrible, leaky roof installed about ten years ago by a shyster-y fly-by-night roofer who spent the years of our warranty lying to us and finally not returning phone calls, we decided to bite the (expensive) bullet and hire a reputable roofer to replace the roof on our townhouse. So, the short answer is you get what you pay for. Ruff was a spectacular company to work with. Kevin, our estimator and project manager, was polite, prompt, honest, and took the time to explain EVERYTHING. We had tons of questions and were clearly roof-shy, and he was super patient with us throughout the process. Once we saw the estimate and managed to catch our breath and pick ourselves up off the floor, we signed on the contract. Now, we had a rubber membrane roof installed instead of the usual tar roof that you see on most townhouses in Baltimore. But let s be clear here: the estimate was three times more than our last roof cost, and twice as expensive as a national chain contractor. It was Not. Cheap. At. All. Really, it s a credit to Kevin and the rest of the people at Ruff that we had such a good vibe from them that we decided to pay for the right people, and get the right roof. After all, it s your house! Amirite. Anyway, the installation was just as wonderful as the estimating process. We were introduced to the job foreman and the supervisor. We were given everyone s cell numbers. They handled all the permitting and inspections, even closing the street one day. The crew arrived promptly each morning, worked the full day, and cleaned the site completely before they left. The work they did was SPECTACULAR, and if I didn t know that for myself, Kevin and the foreman walked me through every phase of the job so I could inspect the work myself, ask questions, and understand what was being done and why. There was extra repointing to be done; they showed me exactly why, and what was going to be done. Part of the sub-roof had to be replaced: again, they showed me exactly where and why. This is how a contractor should be. It was a fantastic experience start to finish. Even afterwards, Ruff has been great to work with. They rushed the invoice through their accounting department, so we had documentation for our refinancing, and then have been exceedingly patient with us as we finish up with our re-fi. I couldn t ask for better. Oh, and post-hurricane Sandy? The roof is on tight, with not even the hint of a leak.

I m sure that they do excellent work, but their estimate was significantly higher than the other estimates that we received. Very expensive. Edit: Apparently there was a mis-communication. We ended up going with Ruff Roofers. They did a great job and our roof doesn t leak anymore.

Haven t had work done yet but Emily was kind and knowledgable and said they would set up a consult right away. She assured me if it wasn t something they could help with they would connect me with a company they work closely with that would be able to do the work! Professional friendly can t wait for my estimate!

Ruff Roofers just finished my new roof today and it looks amazing. the crew cleaned up all the debris and nails from the old roof. They finished the job in less than 12 hours. I will recommend Ruff Roofers to anyone.

New York. NY 10014

After being on vacation for a few days, I came home to my basement flooded! This never happened to me before so I honestly didn t know what to do. My friend told me about 212 water damage and I immediately gave them call. In less than an hour a team of technicians arrived at my place. Not only were they well equipped but very professional. I was extremely satisfied with the way the technicians handled my situation. They explained to me step by step the process of getting the water out my basement as well as throughly cleaning it. I felt a weight come off my shoulders as they finished the job. I hope I never have a flood again but if I ever do, 212 water damage is definitely the place I d call!

Anaheim Insurance Services – Tax Services – 1769 W La Palma Ave, Anaheim, CA

Great prices and Great Service One stop for all your automobile needs. *Auto insurance *Vehicle Registration *Vehicle Legalization *Title Change *Public Notary service *Business owners insurance *Document Translations

Months ago I went to do a paper copy of the title of my car why they stole it and I lost it and the lady who attended me told me that I had to pay forces my plates expired. I did not need them but if I was going to give the document that I asked, I said it s okay. To the days they called me that I had to put the insurance to the car and spent putting it to him, I no longer needed it but it did it. When they called me to tell me that my paperwork was ready, they gave me the registration of the car and I wanted the title. So I spend a lot of money for a document that I did not need, I never go back to do a paper there I do not recommend it.

These people are amazing, If you cannot get around to a Autoclub and their monthly membership charges these people are friendly, beautiful and very helpfull. If your over the phone they re great. In person I signed my paperwork and my pinkslip showed up later over two hours away for 51 dollars, you cant beat it!

Anaheim Insurance Services

Months ago I went to do a paper copy of the title of my car why they stole it and I lost it and the lady who attended me told me that I had to pay forces my plates expired. I did not need them but if I was going to give the document that I asked, I said it s okay. To the days they called me that I had to put the insurance to the car and spent putting it to him, I no longer needed it but it did it. When they called me to tell me that my paperwork was ready, they gave me the registration of the car and I wanted the title. So I spend a lot of money for a document that I did not need, I never go back to do a paper there I do not recommend it.

    One Client’s Story

“In 1 year I went from owning a FAILING supermarket to owning a GROWING supermarket. With Jennifer’s help we’ve experienced an 11% upward trend in sales, which is huge in our tough industry.”

“When I started working with my San Francisco based business consultant, Jennifer, I was scared to dream. I felt as if dreaming was a waste of time because I couldn’t figure out how to make them come true. And as tucked away as those dreams were, Jennifer somehow was able to pull them out of me. She made me realize how important and essential they were. She taught me the techniques that were necessary to harness their power and lay the infrastructure to carry them out.

We are now seeing profits at an all time high and our infrastructure is stronger than ever. The way it is going, we are primed for massive growth and this is just the beginning.

Jennifer taught me how to stop running from fire to fire and that with the right tools i could run a smoother, more profitable, more enjoyable business. My confidence level has risen to an all time high. What surprises me the most is my ability to mentor my staff the way that Jennifer mentored me. Everything she said seemed so wise at the time, but I didn’t know if I was going to be able to pull it off. She believed in me. She encouraged me. She guided me. She set the bar high for me, and I succeeded. I’m now able to pass these lessons on to others and alter the course of history in a positive way. Thank you, Jennifer, for the life changing experience.”

Pure Storage Recognized as Top Workplace by San Francisco Business Times for Third Consecutive Year

All-Flash Enterprise Storage Company Ranks #2 Among Bay Area Companies with 101-500 Employees on Annual Best Places to Work List

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – April 25, 2014 — Pure Storage, the all-flash enterprise storage company, today announced that it has been named to the San Francisco Business Times’ annual list of Best Places to Work in the Bay Area for a third consecutive year. The company ranked #2 in the medium-sized company category (101-500 employees), and received high marks for its meritocratic work environment, diverse and talented workforce, and thriving company culture.

The 11th annual Best Places to Work in the Bay Area awards were presented by the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal at a ceremony on April 17, 2014. Each year, the publications compile the annual list based on employee surveys that measure worker satisfaction across several areas, including personal growth, workplace environment and managerial effectiveness.

“Spontaneous fun” tops the list of employees’ favorite things about office life at Pure Storage. From impromptu Nerf Bazooka fights, to company-wide in-office bungee races, the “Puritans” enjoy a truly ‘work-hard, play-hard’ culture. The company’s smart, dedicated team and hands-on, “in the trenches” executive leadership were also highlighted by employees as being key to what makes working at Pure Storage special.

“It is an honor to again be recognized as one of the Bay Area’s top workplaces by the SF Business Times, and we are immensely grateful to our employees for their enthusiasm and support,” said Scott Dietzen, CEO of Pure Storage. “Ultimately, it’s the people and culture at Pure Storage that make our company great. We’re proud to offer a work environment where trailblazers, innovators and disruptors thrive. We look forward to adding more exceptional people to our ranks in 2014—in the Bay Area, and beyond—as we continue to aggressively scale our operations around the globe.”

Pure Storage was founded in 2009, with a vision to transform the enterprise storage industry. Since emerging from stealth in 2011, it has achieved unprecedented growth, expanding rapidly to meet global demand for its next generation, all-flash enterprise storage array. Even as it scales to support massive global growth, the company remains committed to preserving the culture, ethics and values it was founded on.
