Classes of this nature could tend to be dry, the instructor did a great job of presenting the information in an interesting manner. I took the course on line and they made sure that we had ways of communicating questions to the opresenter.

I had to come here to attend a 3 day course to get my 440 license for my job. Before coming here, all my other coworkers who had previously attended had tons of great things to say about this place. They said it would be especially great if we had Diana (who is the president of the school) as our teacher. Lucky for us, myself and my coworker who attended together got to be in her class. She really does a good job at making what could be a dry, boring experience into something actually funny and entertaining. She knows her stuff and does a great job at teaching thoroughly. Even has tons of funny stories to share. I learned a lot. Just wish we had time to ask more questions sometimes, but she kept us on a very packed schedule (although she was quite generous with allocating breaks). Two tips: bring a jacket, it s freezing I m here. And bring your own coffee if you palm on drinking anyway. The coffee they have in the break room so pretty bad. Even Diana herself warned us. Overall great experience and would recommend it to others

San Francisco Health Plan – Insurance – 7 Spring St, Financial District, San Francisco,

Coming back from an injury when it seems nothing is fair in life, the people of San Francisco makes everything easier. I moved up here without knowing what to expect but the transition was one I wasn t expecting. It s strange I have to get used to people actually helping me. Thank you SF health.

SHORT. you re screwed if you had a city MRA and did the right thing and enrolled in Covered CA (Obamacare). two stars for friendly, very sympathetic staff. LONG. staff is friendly, able to explain new Covered CA changes, and enrolled me (Thanks Kersti!); Otherwise a very frustrating and unhelpful experience. Waited weeks for an appointment, which was scheduled too late to change my Covered CA enrollment. Funds deposited by my employer in November were placed in a city general fund instead of my preexisting MRA and are not available for my Nov Dec premiums or co-pays. 2017 Benefit cut almost in half, covers premiums but not prescriptions co-pays! because I did the right thing by signing up through Covered CA. Staff very sympathetic (explained that many folks before me were upset by the changes) and offered me a printout with the DrPH, MPH phone number and email to register a complaint (evidently they were prepared to do this because of the early number of complaints). Good news is once you get an appointment the enrollment is fast, but this might change it in Jan when shit hits the fan and folks realize their employer payments are being diverted to the city general fund.

Quick to get an appointment, the people were very informative and helped me get my insurance and other paper work right after i moved back to the city.

San Francisco Health Plan is a licensed community health plan that provides affordable health care coverage to over 130,000 low and moderate-income families. Members have access to a full spectrum of medical services including preventive care, specialty care, hospitalization, prescription drugs and family planning services. We were designed by and for the residents its serves and takes great pride in its ability to accommodate a diverse population that includes young adults, seniors and people with disabilities.

We were created by the City and County of San Francisco with one purpose: To provide high quality medical care to the largest number of low-income San Francisco residents as possible, while supporting San Francisco s public and community minded doctors, clinics and hospitals.

San Francisco is as unique as the people who live here. As the local health plan, we know the city; we know the people who live here; and we are tailored to respond to their needs. As a public agency, we have no shareholders. Our revenues remain in the community and any excess is used to enhance patient services, expand coverage and overall, improve the community s health.

History

Established in 1994.

San Francisco Health Plan was created as one of California s Local Health Plans – an initiative to provide affordable health coverage to low and moderate-income families residing in San Francisco. We have since grown to deliver health insurance services to over 130,000 San Franciscans, An excellent choice of physicians, hospitals and clinics are all right here in SF, close to where our members live and work.

In January 2002, in addition to our Medi-Cal and Healthy Workers programs, we launched Healthy Kids – a City and County funded program, which moved San Francisco one giant step closer to universal health care coverage for all uninsured

In July 2006, SFHP partnered with the SF Department of Public Health to develop and implement Healthy San Francisco and the City Option programs. Healthy San Francisco is not an insurance program, but provides participants with a primary care clinic – called a medical home – for preventive, specialty, urgent care, emergency care, and more.

You can also get updates on our courses and upcoming events via email.

Why study Planning?

If you care about the neighbourhood you live in, the time it takes to get to work, or just the fact that water from your tap is drinkable, then you care about planning. Planning gives you the opportunity to change the way we live for the better by studying our local environments, cities, geography and community priorities.

Australia is currently experiencing a shortage of qualified planners, and graduates enjoy excellent starting salaries and work prospects. Our graduates work in local and state government, private firms, research organisations and regional authorities.

Accreditation

La Trobe designs its courses with your future career in mind and partners with a range of professional organisations for accreditation and registration. Refer to the detail for each course below to see what professional registration and membership options exist. The Bachelor of Urban, Rural and Environmental Planning received the 2012 award for ‘Cutting Edge Teaching and Research’ based on our extensive fieldwork and international study tour program.

Sri Lankan study tour

Our students have opportunities to gain global experience on international field trips. In 2014, La Trobe students visited Sri Lanka, where in they worked alongside local students to conduct an urban design studio in southern province of Weligama. Students investigated the changing nature of the small town in response to its connection with the new Southern Expressway and the construction of a large international hotel at the small surfing beach.

Students also conducted a case study at Midigama Turkish Village a tsunami re-settlement village funded by the Turkish Government and Colombo, where they gained a deeper understanding of the city’s colonial architecture and modern forms. Poor customer service, they strong arm their brokers. is all about making the dollar. So when a customer doesn t get endorsements on time a it causes trouble for the customer they don t care, and they don t make it right. if you don t pay for the bad service they want to cancel you. so all you brokers if you want to give excellent service to your customers look elsewhere. remember I warned you.

History

Officially the first Monroe County Park, Ellison Park came into being in December of 1926. The county accepted approximately 200 acres of land from Mr. and Mrs. Frank T. Ellison in memory of Mr. Ellison’s father, Nathaniel. Ellison Park has been the hub of many historical events and locations. Indian Landing which was located on Irondequoit Creek, for many years was used by the indigenous Iroquois as the beginning of the portage route which stretched along Ellison Park.

The Lost City of Tryon, originally founded in hopes of creating a commercial settlement, used the Irondequoit Creek for trade. A store was built that bartered with the Seneca Indians, beginning its trading roots.

Restrooms

There are four restrooms located in the park. There is one located by the Disc Golf Course off Landing Road (open seasonally between May 1st and October 31st). There is another behind the Hazelwood Grove Lodge. Another facility is located by the Creekside Lodge. The last restroom is located by the Sycamore Shelter (open seasonally between May 1st and October 31st). All of the restrooms have flush toilets. See the park map for specific locations.

Trails

Before heading out to Ellison Park print the park map. The color coded hiking trails and additional details will keep you on the right track.

Coyote Den Trail, this 1.1 mile walk (one way) passes by a few ponds and walkers can expect to see many birds and other wildlife.

Overlook Trail, this .6 mile walk overlooks Thomas cove and the stone quarry.

Mill Race Trail, this .4 mile walk, shows the stages between wetlands and a forest.

Indian Landing Trail, this 1.5 mile walk, is full of history, from the location of an old trading post (Fort Schuyler), to the presumed famous Butlers’s Rangers hideout, marked with commemorative plaques.

Butlers Gap Trail, this .7 mile walk (one way) has many interesting historical features as well as an intersection that overlooks the wetlands.

Disc Golf

A new Disc Golf map can be found here. The Greater Rochester Disc Golf Club worked very hard with the Parks Department to re-route the course.

Disc golf is open for play from approximately early/mid April until mid-November, dependent upon ground conditions and weather. If you’ve never played before, there’s never been a better time to get out early and learn. Contact the Greater Rochester Disc Golf Club at www.grdgc.org for more information about the sport.

Playgrounds

There is one playground facility in Ellison Park. It is located on the north side of Blossom Road, near Roadside Shelter. See the park map for the specific location.

Athletic Fields

Ellison Park has five softball fields and one multi-use athletic field that are available for rent. Click here for the Special Use Application or call 585 753-PARK (7275) for more information.

  • We start accepting Special Use Field Applications for the upcoming year on the last Friday in January at 8:30am.

The five softball fields are located throughout the park; #1 and #2 are near Circle and Sycamore Shelters; #3 and #4 are along the road leading to the South Lodge, and #5 is by the Old Meadow Shelter. There are also 3 tennis courts that are lined for Pickleball, and one court lined only for Pickleball. These courts are located off Blossom Road.

Winter Activities

Ellison Park offers two designated sledding hills, and an ice skating rink. The sledding hills are located off Landing Road by the Disc Golf Course.

  • The ice skating rink is located in the large parking lot off Blossom Road. There are no skate rentals; you must bring your own.
  • For rink conditions call 585 753-PARK (7275) during the week between 8:30am and 4:30pm, or 585-753-7270 on weekends between 10am and 4pm.
  • Groomed natural-ice surfaces are in Churchville, Ellison, and Highland Parks.
  • Ice skating is not permitted elsewhere in the Monroe County Parks.
  • When ice conditions allow, the skating hours at Ellison are as follows:
    • Monday through Sunday: 10am- 10pm
  • Equipment is not available for rent in any park.

There is no warming hut available nearby the rink at Ellison Park.

Ice conditions will vary depending on weather.

Skating is done at your own risk.

    Water Activities

Fishing is allowed in Ellison Park as long as those fishing are following NYS Department of Environmental Conservation guidelines and rules and have the required licenses. There is a non-motorized/car-top Boat Launch located on the south side of the park, near Circle Shelter.

Sacramento Business Journal: California s clean-tech industry faces increasing competition

Should California fail to produce clean-tech companies that aggressively compete in domestic and global markets, other nations that are adopting policies and providing financial support for the clean-tech sector will fill the void, costing California jobs and economic growth, according to a Bay Area Council Economic Institute report released Tuesday.

California’s success as a leader in energy and climate policy and cutting-edge clean-energy technology development needs to be seen in a global context, according to the report.

According to the institute, a public-private partnership of business, labor, government and higher education, California attracted more than $1 billion in clean-tech investment in the second quarter, accounting for 70 percent of U.S. clean-tech investment and 50 percent of global investment in the sector.

But the bar is being set by Germany, a global leader in solar and wind, and China, which has emerged as a major global producer of solar, wind, battery and other clean-tech products.

China is now the word’s leading supplier of solar panels, accounting for 30 percent of world production, and is tied with the United States for installed renewable energy capacity but is growing its capacity three times faster.

Dr. Estrada was great. I went in because my vision is not what it was once was so I wanted to get an eye exam and have some questions answered. She was very informative and patient with me. I also had some questions on lasik but I was not a candidate for the surgery. The entire process was easy and harmless and all my questions were answered. The office is really new and clean as well.

The staff at California LASIK Center was amazing! They accommodated my busy schedule and answered all my questions. Dr. Schultz rocks. He personally re-checked all my measurements prior to surgery. Loving life without contacts glasses. Thank you Dr. Schultz =) Staff.

I chose this center over two other centers I got consultations at. The staff are professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. Sometimes they so knowledgable, they give information a bit too quickly, but they are very receptive to answering any questions and repeating anything. The customer service was great and were responsive to phone calls. My eyes are healing well, they did a great job! Dr. Shultz was comforting during the procedure. The facility is well lit and clean. I also liked that they only offer the best technology, no messing around with the cheaper alternatives. Other places give an option for older technology for a cheaper price. The included checkups are quick. I m very happy with my eyesight!

Great doctors, amazing stuff. Very professional and attentive. Clean office, no waiting time. Thank you.

Very happy with this facility. Professional staff and very informative. I would highly recommend

The staff in the lasik department were very helpful and efficient. It was very easy to book my follow up appointments and the surgery. The doctor was very patient and confident. There is nothing better than being able to wake up and see perfect!

The lasik tech has over 20 years of experience and waited for me long after work hours to come in and get tested. He was upfront in telling me I m not a candidate, but he had put in over an hours worth of time doing a manual and a machine screening to make sure. He also gave me other advice on the procedure based on the results I d be able to achieve and I greatly appreciated his honesty and putting me as a customer first.

Fabulous place. The staff was amazing. Sammy was able to schedule me for a consultation on a day they don t do consults because of my work schedule. Christina was able to clear her schedule so she can meet with me. I was able to schedule my lasik surgery within the following week. The day of the surgery went super smooth. The staff and Dr. Shultz were amazing. I can see clearly now. Thank you California Lasik!!

So happy with my LASIK results! Amazing surgeon and staff. Definitely recommend them. Make sure to schedule a FREE consultation to see if you are a good candidate.I regret waiting all these years to do LASIK, not to mention recovery time was quick and easy! By the next day i was seeing clearly and going about my daily routine! I highly recommend this place to anyone who is interested in LASIK!
