Stock Charts, Quotes and Trading Ideas

A stock market or equity market is the aggregation of buyers and sellers (a loose network of economic transactions, not a physical facility or discrete entity) of stocks (also called shares); these may include securities listed on a stock exchange as well as those only traded privately.

Stock charts show historical and latest prices for publicly traded companies. Prices represent trades made by stock market participants when they buy and sell shares, which in turn represent ownership of the company. There are different stock chart types, such candlesticks, area, lines and bars to view latest market data. Anyone interested in the stock market, such as reporters, investors and analysts can perform technical analysis on stock charts and identify potential trends. Through technical analysis traders attempt to predict where prices will go next.

Various tools help investors perform technical stock chart analysis, such as technical indicators and drawing tools. Tools can be applied to one or several stock charts, in order to determine any existing correlations or other interactions. Prices on stock charts can be viewed in a number of formats, including candles, bars, lines or shaded areas. Different stock chart types reveal different information about the price tendencies, which means they can be helpful in different situations. Each stock chart can also be viewed in different resolutions, such as days, hours, or minutes. This helps zoom and see more precise market action on any particular stock chart.

100% PROFIT TODAY DAY TRADING SPY WEEKLY OPTIONS
300% PROFIT FOR THIS WEEK DAY TRADING.
350% PROFIT LAST WEEK. (NOT COUNTING THE 1800% PROFIT WE HAD LAST FRIDAY)

CONCLUSION: DAY TRADING SPY WITH WEEKLY OPTIONS IS THE REAL DEAL.

NOW WITH WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY EXPIRATION DATES IT WILL BE EVEN BETTER!

HAVE A NICE LONG WEEKEND!

Looks like a double top could be forming on the weekly chart for AAPL. Possible target at $87

Anfield Nickel Corp looks to be at a great price to buy. Looking at the linear regression channel, you can see it is trading near the bottom of it with several indicators showing price will soon begin to move upwards with the channel. Firstly the MACD is about to crossover to a bullish signal, Then the WaveTrend Oscillator is showing price oversold with a slight curve beginning to move up, and lastly the Parabolic SAR is showing the end of a downtrend.

MUX is run by the same person who founded GoldCorp GG, and he has a 25% stake in the company that bears his namesake. McEwen Mining also pays a dividend while you wait for the price of XAUUSD to rise, and that is a rarity for a junior miner. Full disclosure, I dollar-cost-averaged into this company at around $2.00/share. My feeling is that when gold breaks $1400 this stock is going to run. The NI43101 looks solid as well. We also offer more narrowly focused courses in areas such as chat etiquette, military writing, GPO Style Manual usage, and customer service for healthcare.

Small Business Grants: The Facts and the Fiction #business #grant

#

Small Business Grants: The Facts and the Fiction

I say for the most part because government grants for small businesses do exist, but the opportunity to secure one is limited to a narrow field of candidates.

Here’s what you need to know about government grants for small businesses, who is eligible to receive them, and how to go about getting them.

What grants are available?

Before diving into the types of government grants available to small businesses, let’s start by establishing what the government does not provide grants for.

The federal government doesn’t provide grants for any of the following activities:

  • Starting and expanding a business
  • Paying off debt
  • Covering operational expenses

However—and here’s the twist—the federal government does award grants to small businesses in certain fields and industries (for example, scientific, environmental, and medical research). The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, for example, is one of the most lucrative sources of federal grants for high-tech startups or high-growth firms (more on SBIR below).

The reason why federal grants are largely off-limits to small businesses is that they are funded by our tax dollars and appropriated through Congress and The White House. Fund allocations are tightly controlled and only awarded to business endeavors that are closely tied to the agenda of a particular government agency, such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture or the U.S. Department of Energy.

Outside Washington, things don’t get much better. Although some state and local government agencies do award small business grants—which they often call discretionary inventive grants —these state grants are also closely aligned to agency objectives and tend to be limited to larger companies.

How to find and apply for small business grants

If you think your business may qualify for a grant, the resources below can help you with your search:

Federal grants

Grants.gov is Uncle Sam’s central repository and searchable database of over 1,000 different grant programs. To narrow down your search to small business grants, navigate to the “Browse Eligibilities” tab and select “Small Businesses”.

State and local grants

Contact your state economic development agency for information about discretionary incentive grants.

Corporate and nonprofit grants

Small business grants are also available from select nonprofits (WomensNet. for example) and corporations, such as the Intuit “Love our Local Business ” campaign.

SBIR grants for R D businesses

As mentioned above, if your small business is engaged in research and development (R D), you may be eligible for a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant. SBIR is a federal program, overseen by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), that awards grants and government contracts to stimulate high-tech innovation and grow the economy by supporting the R D necessary to develop and commercialize innovative technological products. In 2010, SBIR awarded approximately $2 billion in research funds, with more than half the awards going to businesses that employed fewer than 25 people.

While the eligibility criteria for an SBIR grant is pretty straightforward—businesses need to be more than 50 percent American-owned, located in the U.S. and have fewer than 500 employees—securing a grant requires some effort. First, you’ll need to prove that your efforts are aligned with federal R D goals by searching advertised agency solicitations on the SBIR website. Next, submit a proposal outlining the technical merits and benefits of your venture. If you are successful, you’ll then enter a phased R D process. You can read more about this phased approach on SBIR.gov .

The bottom line

Hopefully this information cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about small business government grants.

If you need an injection of capital, don’t waste your time falling for the promises of late-night “free government money” infomercials, and instead use your energies to investigate other sources of financing.

If you don’t qualify for a bank loan, consider an SBA loan, which can be easier to secure than a standard bank loan. An SBA loan is funded with money that comes indirectly from the SBA—first the SBA makes a guaranteed loan to your bank, which then makes a small business loan to you, the business owner. This approach allows the bank to take on a little more risk than they otherwise might be able to afford.

Winning grants and free support for your business: It’s a RAPP – Small Business

Winning grants and free support for your business: It’s a RAPP

There are many opportunities for businesses to obtain free support and grants, both at start-up and during growth and development.

However, keeping up to date with what is available is a task in itself, with schemes appearing and disappearing on a regular basis.

Competition is high and success does not come easy.

If you follow the RAPP process when applying for grants and support, you will improve your chance of success.

The RAPP process

R esearch – find out what grants and support are available.

A pplicant suitability – when you identify an opportunity, ensure you meet the criteria or conditions required for the funding before spending time on an application.

P reparation – take time to prepare and tailor the application to meet the specific criteria and conditions. Alternatively, P can stand for a professional who has the skill set and knowledge of the type of grant you are seeking.

P atience – take time completing your application (but without missing deadlines) and be patient waiting for the result!

Financial support in the form of grants can be found at three levels. National grants primarily focus on growth and capital investment, such as the government’s Growth Accelerator scheme, while regional grants come from a local board specifically set up to help a region that has government and local authority support.

Local grants may be available from a local council, for example subsidised rents for new start-up businesses or funding to help tidy up a high street retail unit.

There are also European grants and funding support, details of which can be found at UK Trade and Investment .

Where you live or trade may significantly increase your chances of success of getting funding, particularly if your business is in an area defined as economically disadvantaged.

It is not unknown for businesses to set up in or move to an area where regional or local assistance is more readily available.

When looking for or considering grant options, four points generally apply.

1. Nothing is free; typically you must be prepared to put in some of your own funds. It is extremely rare for a grant to finance the total cost of, say, a start-up or project, unless it is for a very small amount. Many grants require match funding ie you need to match the funding from the grant provider.

For example, Growth Accelerator is a government-backed scheme providing mentor support, coaching and workshops for businesses looking for rapid growth.

The business has to pay a contribution towards the assistance; the amount depends on the size of the business, with the government contributing to the overall cost of the support.

A grant does mean that you are not giving up part of the ownership of your business, as you would if you were seeking equity funding or repaying the money and interest as you would on bank borrowing.

2. Grants are generally available for a specific project, for example development of a new product or job creation.

Therefore your application needs to meet the criteria for which the grant or support is being provided. Grants are not generally available for just starting a business.

3. The grant scheme provider will have objectives, strategies or aims which the funding supports, for example helping with youth employment.

Understand what the objectives or aims are when completing the application.

4. You must have a business plan that explains what you require the funding for and which is tailored to the grant provider’s specific criteria and conditions.

A blanket application or plan is not going to work. On most occasions, your business plan will have to be entered into the provider’s prescribed application form.

Do not just think of grants and support as financial support. Other types of free support can come in many guises.

For example, when opening your business bank account you may be offered free book keeping software, and many local councils and chambers of commerce offer free training seminars on topics such as social media.

The type of product or service for which you are seeking funding supporting has a major impact on your chances of success. Key areas for which grants and support are readily found are:

Innovation

There are a wide range of schemes and support to encourage research and development. The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) provides grants and support to help develop new products and services and put them in a position to be brought to market.

Energy and environment

here are schemes specifically for developments that will improve energy efficiency or reduce environmental impact. Natural England lists a number on their website .

Training

There is plenty of funding and support is available to develop skills, including those of the business owner, as well as support for new employees where the business will be providing training and development.

For example, the National Apprenticeship Service provides advice and support on starting a subsidised apprenticeship. Alternatively, it could mean taking on an intern from the local university for the summer with the university providing match funding to pay the student’s salary.

Exports

Politicians’ emphasis on exports driving the economic recovery have led to considerable support and assistance for businesses looking to export the goods they manufacture. UK Trade Investment provide funding and subsided advice and services to help business export their products.

Business grants are notoriously hard to come by, but there is assistance out there if you know where to look. Follow the RAPP and hopefully you will be one of the successful ones. Good luck!
