Welcome to the Harvard Business School Alumni Angels Association

Dear club members and fellow HBS alumni:

We are part of a global clubs network comprised of 108 clubs in 49 countries. The Club’s purpose is to:

  • Advance the mutual welfare of Harvard Business School and its alumni
  • Provide opportunities for alumni to remain connected to the School and each other
  • Encourage life-long learning, intellectual enrichment, career development, community service, and social events through a variety programs and events
  • Provide opportunities for alumni to meet and serve as advocates, helping to promote and elevate the stature of the School within the community through Club programming
  • Attract the world’s most talented individuals to Harvard Business School

Please ensure that your HBS contact info and profile is up to date so that you receive all the events notifications and other communications. You can update your information by editing your alumni profile.

All officers and board members are volunteers and we work hard to bring value to the HBS community. In order to make the Club a success we need your support both in attending events and in providing active support. We are always interested in hearing from alumni who would like to play an active role in the life of the Club – organizing events, providing sponsorship or offering venues for events, or suggesting new areas of interest, topical subjects and speakers.

We hope you will join us at a Harvard Business School Alumni Angels Association event in the near future.

Welcome School of Health Technology and Management Alums!

There is much to be proud of as a graduate of Stony Brook’s School of Health Technology and Management (SHTM). Alumni involvement is critical for the School to maintain its leadership role at Stony Brook and across the nation as an institution that prepares high quality professionals to meet the current demands and future challenges in health care. Your continued involvement and support help make great things possible.

The SHTM has undergone many changes over the past several years. We have expanded to a second campus at Southampton and, in recent years, have added programs in Applied Health Informatics, Heath Administration, and Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety to our school. SHTM currently employs more than 100 faculty, graduates more than 350 students annually and has generated more than 11, 500 alumni over our 45-year history.

For those of you who have not seen East Campus lately, you would be amazed by our hospital’s inviting and spectacular lobby, the newly erected Cancer Treatment Center, and the Medical and Research Translation (MART) Building and Hospital Pavilion that will house the new Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. Please come back and visit Stony Brook to see the remarkable changes that are occurring.

We hope that you will get back in touch with us and stay in touch via this website to learn more about the SHTM and our students, faculty and fellow alumni. One of our priorities for this year will be to improve our web presence, making it easier to share information with our community of students and graduates. All graduates of the University automatically become members of the Alumni Association of Stony Brook University and the SHTM Alumni Chapter. Below is a host of ways for you to get involved. Detailed information for many of these ideas can be found on the main alumni webpage just below this message.

  • Contact us to update us and your classmates by providing information for our Class Notes such as achievements, milestones or new contact information
  • Join us at one of our upcoming events
  • Consider a gift to support our School, programs and/or students

Dean

    Master of Business Administration Australia

Australian MBA programs have changed considerably from their somewhat staid and traditional reputation of a few decades ago to now exhibit a flexible response to the constantly changing business environment. This response includes the availability of various business specialisations and foci within the MBA Australia structure including strategy and management analysis in areas such as finance and accounting, operations management, human resource management, and marketing, all including both a local and an internationalised global approach. Along with this the program has adapted to become more accessible in terms of delivery with full time, part time, online and mixed mode options, along with a range of entry requirements from undergraduate degrees and work experience to graduate certificates and graduate diplomas in business and business management.

The outcome of this is an array of options with something to suit every prospective student including students on a career path towards corporate leadership, students advancing into the higher levels of public sector management, and students who want to start or develop their own small business. The program offering can also provide career changing pathways for individuals from technical backgrounds such as engineering, teaching, and nursing so they can move into management and leadership roles such as operations manager, school principal, nurse leader and beyond. The breadth and depth of modern day MBAs in Australia can even be attractive to someone who just wants to study for personal interest and self-development, although other rewards would almost certainly follow upon successful completion of a program undertaken with this purpose in mind.

This guide has been developed to make it easy to determine which Australian MBA courses most closely meet your study requirements.
